Description
There's a Signal to Taking a Left on Eastowne Drive to the Blue Cross Blueshield Old Building. This Particular Signal doesnt even Last until 4 Cars Move its Extremely Less Time and it consumes more time to get a Signal back. This is a Work Place to us and it causes Extreme in the Morning. I Would Suggest to Get a Yield Left Signal to this Particular Road. 5901 Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, Chapel Hill, NC

The Town will review the intersection after collecting details of the particular concern.
Firstly, is the turn onto Eastowne heading towards Providence, or onto Lakeview Dr heading towards Red Roof Inn and Old Durham Rd?
The will need to know the exactly particular movement to modify, as each movement has its separate time schedule and limit. The Town will need to review how to modify that movement without greatly affecting other movements as well.

During the early morning, the left turn from 15-501 onto Lakeview has up to 40 seconds of green time during the morning peak hours. It cuts short if no more traffic is detected in the left turn lane.
However, we have reviewed the actual timings in the field, and we are getting low amount of green time recorded for each cycle. There should be extensions for more traffic in the left lane.
The Town will send the signal technicians to the intersection to diagnose the signal equipment.

The Town of Chapel Hill has consulted with NCDOT, and NCDOT will not allow left-turns other than with a green arrow. Therefore, left into oncoming green traffic will not be permitted.
The Town of Chapel Hill reviewed the timing for the left-turn to Lakeview Dr. The Town allows up to 40 seconds of green left-arrow during the morning timing plans. If the system detects no more vehicles in the left-lane, the green arrow will terminate early, provide more time to the straight movement.
This is allows for the flexibility in changing traffic, while also allowing more time for work vehicles turning in to the site.
