Description

Stimson between S. State St and White is dangerous to pedestrians & bus riders. Between White and S. State St., neither side of the street has a sidewalk. There are no street lights, which makes it even more treacherous. Cars always speed there because they're trying to beat the stoplight at the corner, plus there is steady traffic pulling in and out of Salvation Army. On the N side there are lots of apartments, including handicapped housing. If it's snowy, it's worse: anyone getting off the bus has to walk in the street or be tripped by the narrow rut that serves as a pathway on the N side, or fall over the curbs & potholes on the S side. Can this area be improved? It's hazardous.
