Thank you for sending this issue to the Town of Surfside. Persons found to be in violation of animal Ordinances on the Beach are informed of the Ordinance, warned that future violations will result in a Citation, and instructed to cease the activities they are engaged in and remove their animal from the beach. If repeat violations occur the violator may be cited for the violations observed by Code Enforcement or Police Officers. However, if the animal is determined to be a Service Animal then the owner is permitted to have the animal on the beach. If these violations are observed by the public it is best to immediately contact the Surfside Police Department non-emergency number at 305-861-4862, so an officer may be dispatched at the time of occurrence. Surfside Police Department Officers have initiated on-going checks of the Beach and surrounding area on each patrol shift for all Ordinances and violations of Law. Thank you for your concern for the safety of persons in Surfside.
