Last night the traffic signal for 59th St eastbound at Hollis failed to detect me and my friend both on bikes, and wouldn’t give us a green light. I was in the bike lane and she was in the middle of the travel lane, both of us with bright lights on, but it didn’t make any difference.

We have tried and failed repeatedly to get this signal to detect bikes reliably. Please just put it on a timed phase, as the actuation technology is clearly inadequate.
