Description
At approximately 1030am, December 24th my wife was walking west with our 20lb dachshund/beagle mix dog on a leash on the north side of 79th Avenue when she was harassed by a 100lb black Shepard and a 50lb black dog of non-determined breed. She crossed over to the south side of the street and reined in the leash on our dog but the other two dogs persisted to rush, barking aggressively. Neither dog was on a leash of any kind and furthermore, the owners were out in their front yard (6735) viewing the entire incident. It was apparent that the owners had no control over their animals as they did nothing but try to get them to come home by calling to them. My wife was forced to stop in defense and aggressively yell at both dogs. Even when the dogs backed off some they persisted to try and follow her home and it was only then that the owners left their yard to reclaim their dogs. There is only one sidewalk on 79th Ave and that is on the north side. Residents should be able to walk either alone or with their pets on a leash without fear of harassment. Under no circumstances should they be forced to walk in the street in fear of their safety.
