homeless people are standing at these corners and harassing drivers. we work with the homeless, but i have never seen these guys in the soup kitchens. they come right up to the windows of the cars. my friends are actually afraid to drive here. these men are intimidating. can't the police do something to stop this?

The Albany Police Department does ticket individuals who are obstructing traffic, however as per the First Amendment and several U.S. Supreme Court decisions, we cannot regulate the activity based on our belief or disbelief of what a person is claiming on a sign they may be holding, so long as they are not being aggressive or obstructing traffic.
If you find that someone is in the road obstructing traffic or preventing you from moving as you are walking, you are encouraged to immediately call the Albany Police Department by dialing 911 and/or 518-438-4000.
