I like these. People need to learn how to park them correctly. However, how often are they truly obstructing vs just annoying people that are unfamiliar?
Agree with Shawn - they offer benefits but need to have some regulations in place. There should only be a need for so many in a square mile. The downtown sidewalks are becoming cluttered with them. Designated areas for pick-up and drop-off to connect with existing public transit would make more sense than randomly depositing them everywhere.
The City is actively working with Georgia Municipal Association and other municipalities to determine appropriate measures regarding dock-less scooters. Alternative transportation modes are encouraged in the City of Decatur, however scooters that create a physical obstruction to pedestrian traffic are subject to being removed by City staff.
