Description

We are having major erosion issues going on in the ditch located next to us. We have noticed this occurrence, going on for two years. This has caused portion of the property to wash away. This has caused our fence to shift and have openings at the bottom, along with the foundation of our workshop to be exposed, because there is no longer dirt to support either. If possible, we would like for the ditch to be concrete or closed, like we have seen with other ditches in the city. On the adjacent side of the ditch portion of it is concrete, but it is now cracked up with grass and trees growing through. Another issue is there have been several children going down into the ditch playing in the water, which is dangerous due to snakes, raccoons, and other animals that are living in the ditch. There have also been needles spotted, in the ditch. In addition, the erosion, the trees located in the ditch, is growing over our fence line. We were informed a couple of years ago, anytime a tree located in the ditch, grows over our fence line that it is the city responsibility to trim it down. However, no one comes out to trim the trees nor does maintenance in the ditch.
