Description

Thur. Nov. 15 between 5 & 6 p.m. -- 4 buses obstructing traffic, causing travel both north and southbound to be at a standstill because: THREE BUS ACCIDENTS and ONE BUS PARKED in the driving lane, just before St. Paul's Ave on the southbound side.
1. bus slid off street onto sidewalk at Manhattan & JFK
2. bus slid into parked car at JFK & Beach, just past southwest corner
3. bus PARKED in driving lane in front of apartment building on west side, just before school at intersection of JFK & St. Paul's
4. Another bus into parked car at JFK & St. Pauls, just past southwest corner --
Why weren't these buses all pulled off the roads when it is obvious they couldn't successfully navigate the conditions?
Also, WHERE WERE THE POLICE? Not one car of foot patrolman at any of the accidents and in fact, less police at JFK & 139 than on a normal weeknight. They were not where needed at all.
