Description
CROWDED. NO SEATS LEFT. THE SIM6 TO SI AT 5:30 PM WEDNESDAY 11/14/18, BUS #2524 ARRIVED AT LEX & 34TH FULL, NO SEATS. THIS MORNING THE SIM1C ARRIVED AT STEUBEN & W FINGERBOARD LATE & SRO. I KNOW THE DISABLED ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO ASK PEOPLE TO MOVE BUT HOW DO YOU ASK THEM TO STAND FOR AN HOUR WHEN THEY PAY $6.50 A RIDE ALSO. INSULTS TO INJURY THE SIM1C COULD NOT GET TO RECTOR ST & 2/3RDS OF THE RIDERS GOT OFF. I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $25 CAB FARE TO ARRIVE 17 MINUTES LATE TO A 15 MINUTE DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT!!! THEN THIS EVENING THE SIM6 AT LINCOLN I JUST MISSED THE S78 & HAD A 30 MINUTE WAIT. THE ONLY SAVING GRACE IS MCDONALD'S WAS NEARBY & WARM.
IT'S ALSO UNBELIEVABLE WHAT I SPENT ON TRANSPORTATION TODAY TO SEE 2/3RDS TO 3/4THS OF THE S78 RIDERS NOT PAY!
THIS SITUATION WITH SRO EXPRESS BUSES IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!
THE MOBILITY IMPAIRED AS I AM DON'T QUALIFY FOR ACCESS A RIDE BUT ARE FORCED TO STAND AND WAIT FOR BUSES WE CAN'T GET ON BECAUSE THEY ARE OVERCROWDED. IT'S FREEZING NOW. MOST SI STOPS DON'T HAVE SHELTERS & THE FORECAST CALLS FOR SNOW AND ICE AND THE DREADED WINTRY MIX.....YOU KNOW WHAT THAT DOES TO TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AND EXPRESS BUSES.....HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE WINTER MONTHS???

This is the response from the MTA. for the SIM 6, in the changes planned to go into effect next week they are relocating the SIM 6 terminal from 6 avenue //57 Street to Lexington Avenue/57 Street to mitigate the problem of buses getting caught in crosstown traffic and delaying their scheduled trips.
Without a time for the SIM 1c reported , standees couldn't make it to Rector Street, we are unable to investigate the incident further. However , the bus division has been asked to monitor the SIM 1c for delays that are causing the standee conditions.
Also shared the report f farebeating on the S 78 with bus and security divisions.
