This is an ongoing problem that plagues this brand of buttons when the weather hits freezing. The nested cylinder design can trap moisture inside, which freezes, preventing it from being pressed down enough to activate. Long term plan is to replace all six in our next capital purchase of these expensive items. They are about $650 each, more than each associated pedestrian signal and LED countdown lamp. Short term, for now, is to have both pedestrian movements on recall, to come up every time, until warm weather arrives again. The Department of Public Works has resolved this request. Thanks for helping to keep Burlington a great place to live and work.
