Unfortunately there are miles of local residential roadways without sidewalks throughout the City. This is based on the lack of requirements when subdivisions were first built by developers. Current standards today require all developers to construct sidewalks, as the need for safety has been recognized and made a standard. Retrofitting older subdivisions is however, a funding issue with City Council awarding only $100,000 per year towards this issue. We have therefore developed a priority list based on exposure. I will therefore conduct a traffic study and include this location on the list.
