If your request is regarding the replacement of an existing sign that has been damaged or is missing, Public Works will respond within 1-2 weeks. Given a lack of staffing, your request is responded to in the order received, unless there is an urgent safety issue. We appreciate your patience.

Sure seems to those of us in the neighborhood that this area poses a an "urgent safety issue"... Hopefully the City will tend to it before it becomes the site of a fatality.....

Your suggestion will be included in the annual review of locations where traffic calming measures may be implemented. Public Works, Alameda Police, and the City’s Transportation Planning Unit prioritize improvements based a location’s history of collisions, police citations, its relationship with existing transportation plans and improvements, cost of the improvement given budget constraints, and suggestions from members of the public, such as yours.
