Description

Terrific amount of trash again. Fresh load it seems. Please send crews to clean. I am now also convinced people are bringing waste here to dump. They must be saving $$ somewhere by not going to a legit place to dump..

If a city is allowing people to take over sidewalks, streets and neighborhoods, what is wrong with dumping. If you are dumper and see prostitutes operating day and night on San Pablo and 28th St, wouldn't you think this a neighborhood where no one cares? Certainly Racism, pure and simple. These are poor people of color, we can save $$ by not enforcing the law.

Ok - I called the number. And they said they would make it a priority to send a cleaning crew. I hope it will be so. But really what we need is to be able to catch folks who are doing this and prevent it.. but being as it is - part of a much bigger problem..it will be hard.

What happened is there is a unfair double standard if you are poor or unhoused no tickets or citation. OPD has stopped even writing citation because these street people have an army free legal advisors (at the tax payers expense) that get the tickets thrown out. If I as a taxpaying home owner put anything on the curb that is not part of bulky waste I could be subjected to an 800 to 1000 dollar fine. If I steal something I will very probably will go to jail. As far as the hook*rs go they would not be there save the Johns and there souless P!mps. FYI to report illegal dumpers contact the Neighborhood Law Corps 238-6628 NLC@oaklandcityattorney.org they do offer rewards.

There should at least be a large WM bin here. So the encampment has an option and pick up is regular and the sidewalks have a chance of being clear of massive piles of trash! What do others think?

The city has almost zero enforcement of illegal dumping. They have made it a civil crime that requires that someone needs to press charges to get the city attorney to act. Placing a WM dumpster would be at the taxpayers expense. This would also attract outsiders to dump there and the street zomb!e would a field day going though it. Sadly these street peoples army of legal advisors and advocates fight any thing that infringes on these losers free will. We as taxpayers are paying for everything. Someone is getting very rich in the enabling and pandering of this street people.

A few minutes ago I was walking by and no less that 6 8"+ rats ran along my path in and out of this garbage pile and more were in both the pile and in the field next to it. Do we have to wait for the encampment to start showing cases of hep, rabies, or hanat virus before we get a fix? Will it even happen then?

Yes - this area is really bad. A health hazard and also terribly unsafe. The bike lane is in shambles. The potholes are growing. Its very frustrating. Navigating on foot or on bike is getting challenging. I saw a person willfully flinging stuff across the road. I did not feel it would be dafe for me to stop and question them.. but the trash is all still there. Please send cleaning crews!!!

Bike lane blocked several times this week and last. Only a matter of time before I'm sent flying off the bike and land in a pile of trash and needles.

For what its worth I am going to call the 510-615-5566 number and report the rats. I will also call other officials. If you all think it'll help for them to get multiple calls from folks please take 10-15 mins to call also.
