I agree, this awning needs to be replaced. It is a disgrace to our neighborhood.

This guy is one of the regulars that drinks and causes problems outside of Bauer liquor. Seems he’s expanding his territory, and it should be noted that Galord Foods is about a block from two schools both of which have preschool through 8th grade children who stop in here before/after school. We need to be sure they are safe. We really need help because the city just keeps passing these issues from one agency to another (police, commerce, sanitation) and this is not addressing the problem. We need some sort of task force to get Westside cleaned up. How can we make this happen?

I live on that end of Jewett Avenue (Galord is on the corner of JFK and Jewett), and this place has been a blight for years. We have reported through SeeClickFix, called the Rapid Response Center on more than one occasion, and everyone seems to pass the buck or look the other way. This is BLIGHT. All they need to do is replace the awning that has been in shredded condition for years. Also, there is a gaping hole in the interior ceiling, which is constantly dripping water from some defect in the refrigeration system for their food coolers, JUST A FEW FEET from where they prepare sandwiches for customers. I don't know how moldy, mildewy water coming through the ceiling isn't a health code violation. Seriously, if they aren't going to do anything to maintain this business they should just close.

If Galord were compelled to repair their unsightly appearance then perhaps miscreants wouldn't be attracted to loiter. If I don't trim the weeds in front of my house I will be cited; why is Galord not cited weekly for their awning?

Previous comment makes a lot of sense. Why do residents get hassled about weeds (when it is too wet with frequent rains to cut them until it dries out) and yet somehow this business has been allowed to uggify the corner for at least five years since I bought property across the street?

I would really like the city to be even-handed for a change. JC's credibility is on the line with this kind of thing. Do we want JC to be a nice place to live or not?

Their awning is still in tatters. When will the store be forced to replace? This is unacceptable.

Please, require them to replace the awning or take it down! (A fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt, either, but the AWNING IS ATROCIOUS.

this awning has been like this for years. There is no excuse for it. This should be a gem, as it is the only business of this type for several blocks. As it is, it's an eyesore and detrimental to the neighborhood.

When this guy is out in front of the store the owner should call the non emergency police number (201-547-5477) to have him removed from in front of the store. The awing I will address the zoning department to see if they will send an inspector out.
