Meanwhile, I just witnessed a pickup crash into a Prius at this same precise intersection. And one of the drivers was pregnant.

PLEASE add a crosswalk. It’s been 25 days since my request, and nobody appears to have followed up in any meaningful way.

We have investigated this request. In order to add a crosswalk at this location, and have it comply with ADA/federal requirements for new crosswalks, the City would need to move some combination of a utility pole, a fire hydrant, and/or drainage structures. In addition, Cumberland Avenue was recently paved, so doing this work would trigger the City's pavement restoration requirements, resulting in milling and paving the entire intersection. The City has reviewed crash records and it does not appear there are any records of pedestrian incident going back at least ten years. At this time, the main focus of the City in town is redoing existing crossings to make them as ADA-compliant as possible.
