Description

Hello, my name is Alejandra Garcia Ponce.
My husband, Aaron Anderson and I own the property next door to this rental administrated by Terrier Properties.
We just bought the property, in April to be more specific and we’ve been workin hard to improve it.
Since we bought it we noticed the fence between our property and Terrie’s was pretty deteriorate and bending over our property because several plants and palms had been wildly growing, but we thought it could be a “problem” that we could work with them and it would benefit both of our properties.

We reached out to them with this concern but unfortunately we didn't get the answer that we were expecting. After couple of months we finally got the following answer:
"I do apologize for the delay in response and there were a few people that have to inspect, bid, etc on things like this. After gathering all this information the owner is not willing to remove the fence and take out the required palms."

We are convinced that what happened with this fence is that they neglect the landscaping and maintenance and wild plants “took over” the fence.
We know Terrier Properties because we used to rent from them, they have beautiful old buildings that should be well preserved since they have historic value for our city, for instance the 511th 11th Ave is an Art Deco building, but we know that sadly they go cheap in the maintenance of their properties.

Since we couldn't solve this problem directly with the owner, and we know this is a violation to the City of St. Petersburg City Code – Chapter 16, Land Development Regulations, we decided the next step should report this violation and get the right advice from the City.
Attached some photos of the fence.

As note, they don't show clearly the bending and overgrown because of the angles.

We will appreciate your help with this situation.
Thank you,
- Alejandra
