Please do complete traffic calming on the block between Broadway and Piedmont. The signal timing at this intersection and adjacent Mac Arthur and Piedmont work terribly together. As a pedestrian it take 3- 4 full cycles to get from the hospital to Piedmont ave. At the same time the traffic comes in invariably at the last 3 seconds of a green, causing bunching at every point. Finally, as a cyclist, the sudden lack of a bike lane East of Broadway makes this section more harrowing and the inability of a bike to set off the left turn sensor makes a bike have to choose between running a red like or waiting until a convenient car wants to make the left.
