The ditch behind our house has been neglected for far too long. It raises with a 2” rainfall and becomes dangerous for children and pets with anything over that as the water reaches many backyards and the current is strong enough to up root down guides on the power polls and break fences. We have already sunk $1500 in a new retaining wall because the flooding has severely weakened the original wall. We are on a complete standstill on the project as the tiny amount of rainfall we’ve had this summer ( aside from last night) has loosened the dirt so much that the newly set posts are already sinking. Many neighbors have complained, I have called and received a ref number but no one has come out. People are loosing feet of land with every rainfall and one of the drainage tunnels is almost completely blocked with a newly formed slab of land so water can only pass through one of them properly. This will be a major problem soon and we will be forced to take measures into our own hands. Please send someone out immediately. I have taken pics today that will show debris marking how high the water gets, damage being caused and the blockage but I am only able to post 1 pic here.
