Description
This tree in front of my home is causing a hazardous condition in multiple ways. It's dropping large branches on people's heads as they walk by, it's uprooting the sidewalk, and, as has happened with giant trees in this neighborhood that are so high above the sidewalk, every time there is a torrential rain, we are in jeopardy of having this tree fall directly through my neighbor's home.
The tree has NEVER been pruned since we've lived here.
I made a previous request about this tree through 311, and the folks who checked it out did so in the dark without spending literally more than 3 seconds looking at it before marking it "fine."
The roots are literally three feet high.

I will pursue them again, but will be very vocally following up if I get a repeated failing result.

Update from Parks. Hopefully this will be resolved in six months.

Hi. They came to trim the tree yesterday for the first time since I've lived here. While they did remove branches that were directly hitting my house, they left lots of branches that are overhanging the roof and all the property, and they'll still be a problem in winter when there will be falling debris all over the house and sidewalks. Moreover, they've closed out the ticket completely without addressing the sidewalk condition. So now, do I have to submit a brand new ticket and go back to the drawing board?
It's frustrating that nobody ever speaks directly to us about it but they show up unannounced, do their business, and leave without finding the source of the hazards.
Thank you.
I know you are doing your best.
