Looks like it, and also it is parked in front of a drive way. Could have been the photographers car.;..What do you think. Should he get a ticket too?

No way to know from the picture if the red cars owner lives at that driveway. Life is short, if a boat takes the same space as a car in front of a residence that has no driveway option, what harm is it? Park the boat in the yard behind some bushes and park a car in it's place on the street - what is the difference?

well it wouldn't matter to the cops....and they don't have the time to find out because the donuts will get in the way of the coffee, so it is easier for them to site a car, then to actually get out and knock on the door or God for bid, ring the bell. It might be a good idea that I first thought of ....site the code.

@Garry: the only reason this boat is an issue (to me at least; can't say about Eye here, since he gets pretty excited about small stuff) is that in our neighborhood, there's barely enough room for all the locals' CARS to be parked. If everyone had a boat on the street as well, it flat out wouldn't work. So the boat's a problem since it shouldn't be there AND since it's taking up a parking space from someone else who lives on the street and needs it. If it was just a matter of someone breaking the formal rules but not harming anyone else, I wouldn't care, myself. It kind of sucks to have to part a couple blocks away from your own house sometimes, though, and know that someone else has a boat just sitting there, unmoving, for YEARS in a spot that's closer.

You are very right about that Reythia......it is a matter of being decent. I don't believe that our city has a code for this, but for the sake of the people that live there I agree.

@Reythis: I get your disdain for a spot closer being taken up, but if it were a persons car the spot would still be taken up. I just think that if you had a boat you could park that and a car in front of or near your home too. Once life has passed us by it will no longer matter. Perhaps build a driveway to avoid the street all together? Doesn't have to be a full on cement or asphalt driveway, crushed shell should be sufficient.

@Garry: They HAVE a driveway. They choose not to park the boat there. That's the whole problem.

As John noted, I don't know if there's anything legal to be done about this (and it's really not bothering me quite badly enough to try to do some sort of legal search). But it's incredibly rude and bad-neighborly, nonetheless.

I think the red car that belongs to the person that complains should use his garage so there are more spaces.
