Q. Description:
A. Traffic departing and entering Dixon on South First /113 is too fast for the residential traffic trying to enter South 1st st from Valley Glen Dr. Eventually there is going to be a serious accident crossing this street. Please lower the speed limit to 30 mph on S. 1st street to the end of town at Parkway Blvd. I was nearly "t-boned" today as I tried to cross the street to enter the northbound lane from Valley Glen on South First. It makes no sense to raise the speed limit traveling south on 1st st just past the Faigrounds. Doinf this causes the traffic to accelerate right where residents are triyng to merge accross the street atValley Glen. Unsafe, unsafe, unsafe....

Thank you for reporting this issue using Fixin' Dixon. Unfortunately, South 1st is Caltrans jurisdiction and any changes in speed limits will have to be done in accordance with Caltrans. The City will be conducting a South 1st Street corridor study in the upcoming months to handle these complaints and be working with Caltrans to discuss the different options available. We thank you for your patience. The landscape will be taken care of as soon as possible to help reduce any line of sight issues.
