Totally agree. In addition Beach Drive has been effectively shut down for 2 days. The Grand Prix may bring people from around the country but I suspect that's not the case with this inconvenience which is also going on at evening not during the day time when people are work. A great deal of care should be used when using Al Lang Stadium as a concert site. One thought might be to aim the speakers South. Maybe that would mitigate the problem.

well, we are on the 29th floor and i don't think it is bad at all. it is only 8:30 p.m. and bayshore drive being closed at night? from the length of the parking lot to the mahaffey? what could possibly be the issue? nothing's going on there.....

Bayshore? I agree with re-aiming the speakers. When the idea for expanding the stadium for the rowdies and including concerts was being voted on, there was never an answer to the questions: how many concerts? What about the noise? The rowdies are never a problem, noise-wise, and they don’t shut down streets. Just a bunch of people having a good time and enjoying themselves without inconveniencing the community.

The bass on the warmup group could have been turned down and it would not have changed the songs. The headliner does not perform until after 9. It should be okay. Did the previous comment about street closure mean North Shore Dr. Which is closed from 1st ave s to Dali Blvd.? It has been closed for two days for setups

Base is major irritant with all these events be they Vinoy Park, Janus Landing, or tonight Al Lang. Bands need directions by the promoters. If the promoter asks the band to turn down the bass the band will either do so or walk off. I suspect that this band would not walk off. The promoter is to make a decision of where he wants to go with Al Lang Stadium. Well I'm into it now boy

I live a block away on 4th Ave S, and the bass of the first band made our walls shake, and pretty awful "music" at that. It did get a bit quieter for the second band. I agree that shutting down the streets and putting up with noisy crap is too much of a nuisance to go unchecked.

I stand corrected. It is Bayshore Dr. SE that was closed for two days from 1st Ave South to Dali Blvd. for the setups. I am sure this was for safety reasons while they ran the wires and set up the collapsible stage. Once the concert headliner started at 9:15, the bass seemed to be turned down and the concert was really enjoyable. I also like that it is over and everyone on their way home after 10:30 as it is a work night. This is a new experience being in the heart of the action! Love the Rowdies games!

Still couldn't drive on the road in front of the Dali today at 2pm. No thought on how to end this mess. Edwards sucks again.

The concerts at Al Lang Stadium are an allowed use under the agreement between the City and the stadium entertainment management company. All amplified music events at Al Lang require the approval of the City and must meet certain requirements for stage design, speaker setup and noise production. We have forwarded the information you have provided to the City Development Administration to be taken into account when planning future events.”

Just make sure that someone who can make the bands reduce their noise level is there during the event. I think that there was simply no serious person in charge at the last concert. Even the Grand Prix, as annoying as it is, does not make our walls shake for hours.
