I live here and the number of cars coming up from Edgewater not realizing the road is closed is out of control. I am stopped at least twice a day and asked how to get around it. PLEASE put similar blockage at Edgewater and Sunset Point as you have at Douglass and Sunset Point. The single sign was ineffective before (no cones) and is now so far down the road no one even sees it. I've seen emergency service vehicles and buses trying to get through!

I agree on the above. Very unsafe conditions as cars do not follow that Sunset point rd is closed at Pinellas trail. The blockage sign needs to go back at Edgewater and Sunset Point. I have seen vehicles mount the curb and turn around on our grass. A truck with a huge boat attempt to turn around in our driveway. Constant traffic and our driveway is gouged numerous spots at the entry. Very unsafe for our community.

The City of Clearwater has traffic control authority along that road segment, and the signage referenced appears to belong to them. I will however check with our sign shop to see if they recently relocated existing signage there.

Yes! The digital sign needs to go back at Edgewater Drive and Sunset Point Rd! Right at the intersection! It is creating unsafe conditions in our private road at Sunset Point townhomes!

There are at least 20 to 30 or more cars a day coming up Sunset Point road which includes emergency vehicles, police, public bus, people pulling boats, maintenance trucks, and more.

The signage on Edgewater has been turned off. There is a small sign showing DETOUR SUNSET POINT ROAD. If I saw that sign I would interpret that the detour option IS on Sunset Point Road.

Then on Sunset Point there is a sign about 200 feet from the intersection of Sunset and Edgewater off to the side that says ROAD CLOSED. There should be a sign at the intersection. Then another sign on Sunset ROAD WORK...then another that is hidden by tree branches. All of these signs are not stopping traffic from coming up Sunset Point.

There needs to be signage on Edgewater going north and south stating SUNSET POINT ROAD CLOSED...and specific detour signage stating follow DETOUR to UNION for north bound traffic and follow detour to DREW for south bound traffic.

Many cars trucks and commercial vehicles are having to turn around at the blockage. There is no indication at the bottom of sunset point. Our driveway that we recently had repaved has sustained damage from all the commercial vehicles turning around in our complex. Yesterday there was a pickup truck on our grass. Yesterday i saw a car drive through the roadblock which involves them driving on the trail, our grass and our neighbors grass. I mean, it could be a simple solve of moving the sign which is still at the bottom of the road into the eastbound lane, letting people know that the road is closed.

Construction Management Division informs that they are changing the messages on the variable message boards, and are adding additional detour signs for north/south motorists near the intersection, directing them to continue north/south to designated detours. The additional signage is helpful but hasn't resolved the issue. I work from home and am outside for no less than 3-5 minutes a few time a day (to walk my dogs) and in the last two days since additional signage has gone up, each time I am outside there is 5-8 cars turning around. That is too much and not everyone can be that ignorant of the additional signage that has gone up - it is not sufficient.

The sign on the east bound side of the road on sunset is useless. It should be moved to the closest point possible to edgewater WITH CONES preventing anyone from coming down with the exception of local residents. This will allow those who 'missed' ALL the signage on edgewater to turn in the vacant gas station instead of continuing up Sunset Point.

There was this when the work began and for some reason it was removed. It's been a problem ever since. Appropriate signage would state that the road is CLOSED TO ALL BUT RESIDENTS WEST OF THE PINELLAS TRAIL or something of that nature. All the cars are creating a burden on Stevenson Ave (only wide enough for 1 car) and our brand new private residential drive is completely chewed up as Kim stated above. Please, begging either Pinellas County Public Works or City of Clearwater to resolve this. I've left a message for Construction Management directly - which does not pick up their phone sadly. The electronic sign going South on Edgewater is not on, hasn't been since over the weekend. No additional signage/blockage at the turn onto Sunset Point from Edgewater has been added yet. If you've a secret back door phone number to someone that can get this done PLEASE provide to us or call them to get this done.

The sign needs to go back on the left hand turn lane at Sunset Point leading onto Edgewater that the road is closed. Construction took it away and it needs to go back with more signage, leading to the road closed sign. It is a safety hazard as vehicles still turn around on our private driveway at Sunset point Townhomes. Local traffic only sign at that intersection or road closed right at that intersection of Sunset Point Road and Edgewater! This situation is not handled!
