Description
Homeless and intoxicated people once again were allowed to congregate and lay around the park. Guess what...they left a mess of trash again. If the city will allow them to destroy our neighborhood they should at least clean up after them. The people in charge of our publicly funded parks should make an effort to keep them clean and healthy. This is at the mouth of a residential neighborhood, and it’s spilling into Old Southeast. How are law abiding citizens supposed to be able to enjoy the green space? Allowing these people to loiter here is inviting drugs, prostitution and crime into an residential area. How is this still going on in the south side? It is getting worse and I see nothing being done. What is the city doing to actually make a change?

Close the Salvation Army. NOW! This is the ONLY way this issue will be resolved. We need to start a petetion. Seriuosly. Or just keep complaining.... CLOSE THE SALVATION ARMY! Let’s make it happen. ( by the way many years ago the city paid a large large sum of money to have an outside think tank come in and they wrote up a huge long multi page report on what to do about the homeless… Anyone out there reading this a lawyer or some such thing who might want to read through the document or try to find out if the city ever used that information after paying for it? )
Also of note, one of the major problems that this outside think tank reported to the city was feeding the homeless. Feeding the homeless does NOT help the homeless. Yet we had many of our own residents right here in our own neighborhood feeding the homeless thereby aggravating the problem for the rest of us. Once again only putting feet on the ground and standing up to these do-gooders and telling them to stop feeding homeless is the only way we’re ever going to stop this from happening. It’s unfortunate that we would have to confront people in that manner but unless these do-gooders want to invite the homeless to their own property to destroy it than i think it’s going to be necessary for us to stand there and tell them to stop feeding homeless.
How bad do you really want this to stop? I’ve given you solutions but I cannot implement them by myself , only in large numbers can we achieve anything!
