Last night’s recycling pickup left as much trash scattered up and down the block as must have made it onto the trucks. This is not an infrequent occurrence. I’ve woken up to observe pickups and often they seem rushed and/or careless, throwing collection bins around while the truck races up the street. Maybe take more time and do the job right?

As someone who picks up litter constantly, it’s distressing that much of it seems to come from the very Authority responsible for cleaning it up. And since my property taxes are doubling this year, I plan to be much more vigilant about reporting it to City Hall.
