Description

On the west side of North Ave, DPW & BED vehicles are currently parked in the street with the sidewalk blocked and excavated. There is no advance warning of a sidewalk closure and the crosswalk itself is blocked. For BHS students who were just released walking home northbound on the west side, they had no choice but to walk in the street around the section blocked by vehicles. If you're headed southbound in the bike lane, all the signage warning of the construction ahead is placed in the middle of the bike lane, instead of on the ample green space.

Both BED & DPW should manage this situation better, as there is currently zero consideration given to the safety of anybody walking or biking this section. It was a total junk show shortly after BHS release. In addition, the sidewalk and bike lane on the east side of the avenue is also blocked by a private paving contractor, with no signage or advanced warning.
