There have been many accidents on Claremont ave at the intersection of Hillegass. One yesterday required an ambulance. The long stretch between the light at College avenue and the one on Colby provides a great temptation to speed. Cars travel both directions on Claremont at near freeway speeds. Coupled with the fact that many drivers use Hillegass to bypass congestion on College avenue, it's a very dangerous intersection. A traffic light should be installed there to provide safe passage for drivers and pedestrians entering the intersection, and for east-bound cars turning left onto Hillegass. A light would likely also slow the speeding traffic. Let's not wait for a fatality to take this action.
