Wondering why some generous neighbor or neighbors don’t get together to at least cut the grass. These abandoned houses affect the character of the entire neighborhood 😞
Why should the neighbors who work, or have lawn care service, and take care of their own yards be responsible for a house which the owners don’t keep up or abandon???

You have a very legitimate point, but my point was the effect a house like that has on the entire neighborhood,ie,lowering property values. I wasn’t proposing you manicure the landscaping, merely suggesting someone could cut the grass.
Having neighbors cut the grass would be fine if the owner was physically unable to do so or couldn't afford professional lawn care, but we do not yet know the circumstances of why it is the way it is. The city can now look into it. If the owner(s) have the means to take care of it, then that should be the first option.
We have sent letters to the owner to not only maintain the yard, but to repair the fence as well. There is a time limit for this work to be done and we are currently monitoring this situation. We have been able to make contact with family members and we are hopeful that this can be resolved. Thanks.
Again, I say that we have made contact with family members of this property owner and are working at getting this resolved. In the meantime, we have done a lot of work to clean up this property for the sake of this neighborhood.
