Rusty barrel, fallen siding, over grown weeds & grass harboring critters

Time for owners to be responible for their property. There are aminals in the building, grass to be cut and people going into the building when unoccupied.

Severe water damaged, collapsed roof, strong smelling black mold. The doors are unlocked, take a look for yourself. This is unsafe, unsanitary.
Owner owes back taxes for 4 years! Please hold accountable and uphold our laws and standards for our community.

This house has black mold growing and unsafe to walk around inside the building! Fixing a couple of exterior sliding, window trims, lights is NOT going to fix the problem. It is uninhabitable for human or animals. According to the tax records the owner is behind in their taxes by a few years! When will the city demand the house is a serious health hazard and hold owner responsible for it? Owner lives out of state and does not care as no one is demanding correction.

We have issued a citation on this property due to the property owner not responding to the correction orders. We will continue to works towards compliance on this issue.

What action has been taken to resolve this?

Exactly what has been done regarding this building. There are animals and people going in and out of there. Not a safe environment for neighbors and small children. Please advise.

My apologies, the inspector covering this case has left the City and indicated that the item was resolved. Citation has been issued and the owner has chosen to challenge the citation. We are waiting on the decision at this time.

Any idea on a timeline for the decision?

The Municipal Court earlier this month, granted the owner six months to fix up the property and/or dispose of the property to a new owner or give up the property to the County.

As mentioned in a previous update, the courts gave the owner 6 months to repair or dispose of the property. We have verified that the property was taken over by Wood County meeting the requirements of the court stipulation. While work may still need to be completed on building the County will need to decide to undertake that work or find a buyer that is willing to take on the project. At this time there is no further action that the City can undertake. As a result the issue is being closed.
