It is extremely dangerous for students crossing very busy Snowden River Pkwy to & from Long Reach High School at the Deep Earth Ln & Good Hunters Ride intersection during the opening & closing school hours. We'd like to see some School Crossing Warning/Caution Signs or School X-ing Flashing lights (only during school hours) similar to what is on Tamar Rd/Snowden River Pkwy to/from Long Reach HS before & after this busy intersection OR Crosswalks painted & School X-ing Signs posted in the middle island?

Please note that when considering the possibility of a traffic signal at a given location, we are required to follow the guidelines set forth in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The MUTCD, a Federal Highway Administration document that is used nationally and adopted by Maryland and its jurisdictions, outlines minimum requirements to ensure that traffic signals are used where they are found to be justified through a comprehensive and objective analysis. No warrants were met in a previously conducted federal warrant analysis.

In regards to school route walking area is determined by the Board of Education, your request for a crossing evaluation has been forwarded to the Board of Education's Transportation department. At this time it is recommended that pedestrians use the signalized crossing at Snowden Rive Parkway and Tamar Drive.
