Description

I work at Champlain College and frequently walk and bike there from my home on Henry St. I am consistently frustrated about the crossing situation for bikes and pedestrians going across Main St. from Summit St. I have spoken with many other people that share the same frustration and quite frankly safety concerns. While there is a crosswalk there now, many drivers do either not see people trying to cross or refuse to yield to pedestrians/bikers, causing people having to step far out into the line of traffic and resulting in people slamming on their brakes very close to the person crossing. Is there any way you can install a flashing pedestrian signal that can be pressed to light up when someone wants to cross? They seem to be more effective
