Speeding car damages FRI 25MAY

Temporary traffic cones were placed on the centerline of Main Street in the interim lead time for delivery of flexposts that were recently installed on the west end of Main Street as part of a test traffic calming configuration. Placement of cones in conjunction with the flexposts will not allow for required 11-foot minimum lane width on an arterial roadway.
Pre-flood speeds could not be collected from a HCPD device destroyed by the May 27, 2018 flood, however, a speed data collection device has been deployed post-flood/post-test calming implementation. As speeding is ultimately an enforcement issue, it is encouraged that citizens contact the HCPD for enforcement, even while the effectiveness of test calming is evaluated.
