Description
The ticket placed back in Nov 2017 still has not been resolved. https://en.seeclickfix.com/issues/3905915-ditch-drainage-and-or-erosion-issues#
Someone came out and viewed it and said they would do something............still waiting.
Street stays flooded and because of no drainage, everything backs up in front of our house. There is now aother dam as well as street is covered in pile high dirt and debri.
What is it going to take for Huntsville City to resolve this issue?

Is the Huntsville Engineering Department going to come out and clean this mess?
From the way I read it, It was assigned to Huntsville Public Works and then Huntsville Public Works assigned to Huntsville Engineering....passing the buck so to speak.
So which department is coming out to clean the street and mess?
Huntsville Engineering (Verified Official)
Hello! Engineering does not clean up debris however we will evaluate if there is a drainage solution. We will work with Public Works to have the debris removed.
Thank you,
Engineering

We have viewed this location and found that due to the flatness of the street and no nearby drains to tie into that there is no cost or easy solution to fix the drain issue. We have notified Public Works of the debris and they will be out to clean the area.
Thank you Engineering

So that's it --- no easy solution so give up????? And we are stuck with a street that looks like all the time? And we have to deal with flooding. After next rains, will open a new ticket to show what the street looks like with the flooding. Because of the flooding that is how the dirt and debri end up.
Last time I opened ticket, Huntsville Engineering Department had guys out here with Global GPS marking and spraying the street with markers telling they going to fix it............Guess that was all show huh?
Very dissapointend with Huntsville Engineering Department's reply to the issue....though not shocked.

Something I just realized by your comment and me re-thinking it -- "due to the flatness of the street" -- If someone did come out, then they would have saw at the dead end of the street where the problem exist, the street is not flat. It is curved...........No offence but it doesn't take an Engineering degree to see it, just a good set of eyes. The stree is lower on each side of the road and high in the middle...........that is not flat. And probably part of the problem why the rain water pools and floods the street as street is not flat ad water is damming to one side.
Would be appreciate to someone came out and we can discuss in person.

We are currently expanding the area that we have surveyed and looking for a potential solution with the church as a means to drain the area.

We are adding to the survey data that we have already taken and working with the church for a potential solution.

Huntsville Engineering guy yesterday morning that was out here surveying told me that the mess would not be cleaned up until a solution is in place as Huntsville Public Works didn't want to have to keep coming back out and clean it.
So how long till solution is place as I now being told won't be cleaned up till a solution is in place?

Appreciate Huntsville Public Works cleaning the street...........but left dirt and debris at the dead end (what also needed cleaning out) and then dumped dirt cleaned off street over the fence on church property - a dirt dam that is not going to help the situation.
Very dissapointed in half butt cleanup.
Was expecting them to not only cleanup the street but clean up at the dead end of street on CITY PROPERTY and not dump on private party on other side of fence.
Hope you have someone to come back out and finish the job.

Huntsville Public Works drove back down to end of the street along with backhoe, looked and then left. They then went out into field and picked up dirt they threw over but didn't mess with dirt mess and debris pile at the end of the street that they failed to clean up the first time.
Is it safe say that at the end of street, Huntsville Public Works is not going to clean it up?
If I have to get out there and clean it up myself, what Huntsville City Department should I bill?

It would take a storm gutter to be installed leading to the nearest storm drain to resolve the issue here.
The issue was due to the Neighborhood Developer not having one where it should had been during the construction of your street.
The city engineering department should had made sure the proper storm drains were on the blueprints and the city inspection department should had also noticed that was lacking before they signed off on it and made it public access.
They can still correct the issue by simply getting the pipes needed and a backhoe and install them after checking for underground pipes and cables.
Perfect case in point that shows it's easier to do things right the first time, than go back and do it a second time.
Yeah, it's going to take costs, but that's what your taxes are paying for.
Side note: when I went and looked at it myself, I saw old needles in the debris.
This makes it a health issue also, and that should be addressed in my opinion.

Even with repaving the roads, Reed does right in Sandhurst park and Bell mnt road, and yet on Jordan Ln they left it trashy for over a month.

The grading performed at the end of Cindy Street on 5/18/2018 will now allow that area to drain naturally through the church property.

That grading you are referring to is about back to original due to all the rain we had and settling back in. I wouldn't even call that a Bandaid fix. Huntsville City Engineering should know, that it was a quick temporary fix that will not fix the underlying problem.......seeing as it is already about settled back.
Why close a ticket when the debri issue is still not resolved?
Did anyone from the city not read comment above about needles being found in the debri as well?
I WILL NOT LET THIS PROBLEM BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG.
