Description

When leaving UHC, you can not make a legal left hand turn if you are the only car waiting at the light. This light has been a constant issue, and has recently been turned from blinking red back to the normal changing from green to red. However, the left turn arrow NEVER comes on for only 1 car. If a second car pulls up all of a sudden it works. I wish the folks in charge of this light would test it with just one car so they understand how frustrating it is on a daily basis. If you are not exiting with the masses, you either have to go straight or make an illegal turn on a red light.

i believe that both neighborhood road and boces lane are county roads. i would start by contacting ulster county highway department.

If it were only that easy. You see, the story I get from the municipalities is that IBM paid to put that light up when they were here. Now nobody wants to take ownership of it. the town says it's the county and the county says it's Tech City, and Tech City says it's not their problem. So to date, the issue is still the same. If you are the only car at the light leaving UnitedHealthcare, and you want to make a left turn, you either have to do it illegally or sit and wait for someone else to pull up to the light. It's pretty sad in this day and age, but then again this is NY.
