Every time there is a strong wind limbs fall off this tree. Many times they fall into our garden and sometimes do damage to our other trees and plants. We have pets that have damaged their feet on the sweet gum balls that fall in our garden and we are frequently twisting ankles stepping on them, even though we try to keep them raked up. There are just too many of them. I now have my right ankle braced as a result of twisting it on sweet gum balls. We would like to have this tree removed and would be more than happy to plant another native tree in its place. We bought this house 20+ years ago so we could age in place. We have four Sweet Gum trees on county property around our home that we have clean up. This is a major consideration regarding wether we can in fact, stay in our home.
