  I also reported this issue last week and two weeks ago and it's gotten WORSE!!! one of them has taken over the whole sidewalk like it's their yard. This is totally unacceptable and they have killed several trees by stealing the water in the resevoirs we paid to truck in here. they are encroaching on public right of way.

  get ready for more campers to come in & destroy what little space our children have for recreation.
  1. Berkeley Marina is forcing the 20+ large RVs out & making it illegal for any RVs to stay overnight and 2. there is no enforcement in poorer neighborhoods of color like West Oakland.

  After planting, I broke my back hand-watering these trees when the tank truck failed to show up last summer... I realize that trees are not equal to the human crisis of homelessness but it is really irksome to me that the practices of homelessness are permitted to be so destructive. It's as if we are resigned to the overall brokenness of our housing system that even the wanton killing of volunteer-planted treelings is just par for the course. Homelessness requires fixing - an illusive and tall order laden with sacrifices all around. But in the interim it still requires boundaries.
