  Woke up this morning to the sound of roaring engines and giant blasts of bass from cars racing up 14th avenue and blasting their subwoofers. Problem still unresolved

  Problem still ongoing. Was kept awake until around 2 AM last night by periodic subwoofer blasts emanating from cars coming down 14th avenue. I also almost got struck and killed by a drunk/high driver speeding down 19th avenue onto 14th avenue as I was crossing the street. He blew through the red light and almost crashed into a car that was coming down 14th about 2 seconds after the light turned red. I narrowly avoided being hit by him. 2nd time someone's almost killed me running a red light at this intersection in the last month

  I don't know who is rejecting my comments but I don't see what I posted that you deemed so unacceptable you felt the need to reject my post. Why would you do that? Are you trying to prevent people from reporting problems in their neighborhood- the purpose of this entire site?

  I'm re-typing what I posted before here:

  This problem is still ongoing. I was kept awake until 2 AM last night by sporadic subwoofer blasts emanating from cars rolling through the neighborhood. Last night I also narrowly avoided being killed by a driver who ran the red light at 19th and 14th ave (same intersection where I almost got killed by another drunk driver who also ran the red light a few days ago.) He sped through the intersection and turned onto 14th avenue several seconds after his light turned red and I was halfway crossing the street, I narrowly avoided him hitting me. He almost hit a car that was coming down 14th ave who had to slam on his brakes at the last second to avoid a collision.

  This area is in dire need of law enforcement intervention. I have been reporting these problems to OPD since October of last year to no avail. It's already been about half a year and OPD isn't doing anything about the problem, and it appears that someone is even going as far as to censor my comments about this issue.

  almost killed by an intoxicated driver again last night 2018-03-29 blew through the red light at 19th and 14th, turned onto 14th ave and almost hit a car coming down 14th in the process as well

  Problem is still ongoing. There was also a miniature sideshow at the QuikStop on E 31st and 14th ave this weekend. The participants loitered at the gas station blasting their subwoofers loud enough to be heard within at least a 5 block radius. After they finished their subwoofer blasting session, they rolled onto 14th avenue into oncoming traffic and blocked the entire street while their friends exited the gas station. On both Saturday and Sunday I couldn't get to sleep until around 4 AM due to all the noise and drama they created in the neighborhood.

  Problem still ongoing. OPD contacted countless times over the weekend as cars and motorcycles recklessly flew down 14th avenue running red lights and stop signs, loudly revving their engines as they burned rubber and endangered pedestrians and motorists alike. The pounding throb of bass emanating from their subwoofers could be heard across the neighborhood throughout the day as they continue disturbing the peace, violating city & state law and almost causing several collisions.

  You are doing the right thing documenting this public safety issue. This is how things work in Oakland its all reactive. Wait for some horrible to happen then throw there arms in the air and scream if we only knew. Please find out which police beat your in and who you police beat officers are and contact your local NCPC.

  I got an e-mail last week from the district beat officer. Apparently they have a new officer. It was the first time they've replied to my emails in months. They said they're going to step up patrols in the area and try to catch people doing this. I did actually see them pull over one guy who was disturbing the peace the other day. Unfortunately this weekend was absolute chaos. All day yesterday there was lots of reckless driving, lots of motorcycles blasting through the neighborhood setting off car alarms with their backfire, lots of cars doing burnouts and other various disturbances and dangerous maneuvers. Hoping that the situation will be under control soon.

  Problem is still ongoing. I've still been regularly calling OPD about this problem every day. Last weekend was very bad in particular. I've been trying to follow up with the district beat officer via e-mail but it sounds like it might be a while before this problem is under control. I was told that they were also notifying the beat officer of district 18 since the Quik Stop on E 31st is in that district. Praying that the problem will be resolved sooner than later.
