This is an old pothole in the Newark Ave. crosswalk where the red paver stones came apart, it seems that it was previously patched with asphalt but it has developed a sinkhole in it's place.

Thank you for your request. Potholes referred to the Division are normally processed within 48 hours.

Sinkholes will be referred to the appropriate utility agency for inspection and repair.

Please note that potholes cannot be repaired on days with heavy rain because the moisture will prevent asphalt from bonding with the existing pavement.

The pothole was filled by the asphalt crew on 4/7/18.
