The tree shows rot at the base, splitting, and was assessed by the city of oakland 2 years ago, when the arborist estimated 1 year until removal. He said if the tree had 60-percent limb loss/death, it would be removed. If you count all of the dead limbs that have already been removed, the tree passed this threshold long ago. The tree is on the east side of skyline, just south of Waterloo staging area, just south of the driveway to 9312 skyline. Additionally, there is a smaller leaning pine directly across the street and south a few yards. The tension wire connected between utility poles is splitting through the middle of the tree. The pole to the south is high voltage. This tree also critically needs to be removed.
