Description
Last several days we didn't have our beach. This biggest Surfside asset needs to be preserved. That's where all efforts of the Town's authorities should be directed instead of creating inconvenience for drivers and pedestrians on 88th street and planting trees in the middle of one way roads.

Thank you for using SeeClickFix to contact the Town of Surfside. Like you, we also are deeply troubled by our diminishing shoreline as a result of beach erosion caused by winds, tides, currents and waves, hurricanes and storms.
At the September 2017 Commission meeting, Town Commissioners adopted a resolution urging the Florida legislature to appropriate funds for beach re-nourishment projects. We have passed similar resolutions in the past and are in continuous talks with our neighboring communities about ways to collaboratively work together to protect our beach.

However, it's not only the beach problem. It's a flood threat to the Town. Ocean waves were overflowing the pass hill and reaching the shower.
Maybe, building of some kind of artificial reefs, breakwaters, or so can help. Maybe raising of the hill of Surfside pass needs to be considered.
