Description

At the intersection of Industrial and Astor, there is a bus stop that is frequently used by the residents of Woodbury Gardens commuting to and from Central Campus. There are no "Stop for Pedestrians in Crosswalk" signs here and vehicles often do not stop at all. There have been days where neither the south- or northbound lanes stop and you are stuck on the curb for awhile. Other times one lane will stop and wave you out, but then you're stuck in the center turn lane because the other lane won't stop. I personally have had an incident where a car acted like it was slowing down, but then sped up when myself and another person started to enter that lane; I jumped back to the center of the road and the other person had to sprint to the other side. There have also been times of inclement weather (both snow and rainy days) where you start to cross and cars that are over a block away haven't attempted to slow down and you are stuck standing in the middle of the road hoping their car doesn't start sliding when they reach you. I see those narrow, vertical signs the on the sides or the middle of the road around campus, but I am hoping we can get one down here since it is such a busy bus stop. Thank you for your time!
