E-Mail: Issues are
1) Turning left onto Ten Oaks from Wye River Dr.
After much caution the moment we are take the left turn onto Ten Oaks, speeding vehicles northbound traffic on Ten Oaks Rd. come onto us as a surprise from around the sharp bend in Ten Oaks about 100-150 feet away.
2) Turning left onto Wye River Dr. from Ten Oaks Rd.
While we are waiting to take the left turn onto Wye River Dr. speeding vehicles come up behind us around the sharp bend in Ten Oaks.
In both cases, the traffic going North on Ten Oaks with speeds around ~50+ mph (posted limit is 30mph)
comes up as a surprise around the sharp turn which about 100-150 feet right of Wye River Dr.
Sharp turn in Ten Oaks about 150-200ft and Speeding vehicles are creating a traffic safety issue while trying to get in and out of the community.
I would really appreciate it and request you to please review attached document and provide a suitable solution such as additional signage before sharp turn (left turning vehicles) or speed traps.
Thank you for submitting your request to the Howard County Department of Public Works Traffic Engineering. Our staff will investigate this issue and respond.
When exiting the Castleberry at Ten Oaks community at the intersection of Wye River Dr. and Ten Oaks Rd. trees / dirt mound at around 100ft right of Wye River Dr. continue to block the view of fast oncoming North-bound traffic on Ten Oaks Rd. Speed limit is 35mph and school buses, large trucks continue to surprise residents waiting and intending to exit or enter the community at Wye River Dr. We would really appreciate any resolution to this traffic issue. Thank you.
