How many times do I have to ask the city and the city bylaw people for help with the feral cats running loose and defecating in my flower beds daily?
Last year I was asked to speak to the neighbour that has one or more cats using my yard as a feces drop off spot and ask her to keep her cats off my yard, and all she could say in return was “I DON’T HAVE TO!”
A few months ago I went on line and printed a copy of:
“BYLAW C-1226
A Bylaw of the City of Grande Prairie
in the Province of Alberta
Respecting Animals and Responsible Pet Ownership”
and presented a copy to her, but to no avail!
I spoke to her again and all she could say this time was that it wasn’t just her cats crapping in my yard!
She has made absolutely no effort to be a good neighbour or to comply with Bylaw C-1226, therefore I officially request that the City of Grande Prairie take charge of this situation and see that it is rectified!

What I do is trap the cat using a live trap like the one linked below and take it to the pound.

If it's microchipped or has ID tags, they will call the owner. Then the owner must pay the animal at large fine to bail it out of jail. If not, it's up to the owner to go looking for it. We've found it very effective.
