Our Animal Control Officer visited the address and did note bird feces on a portion of the sidewalk, but there was not a bird in sight. Is someone feeding the birds at a particular time in that location?

I am not sure if people are feeding them, but they are there. You can here them. If you come by in later afternoon/evening the sounds is deafening. I am sure when your office visited her also noticed that there were no cars parked under the trees closer to washington st. If you park there you car is completely covered in bird poop within the hour.

The birds come when it gets dark and spend the night, they mostly leave the area in daylight. They are very loud all night and that is when they cover all cars and people walking under with their droppings. The smell is also very bad. You absolutely cannot park there. No one is feeding them.

Please fix ASAP as hear them all the time- heard flocks of them at 6pm Sat evening and there constantly ...literally 100s....very simple situation at St Peters Prep on the sidewalk in front of gym (on bricked sidewalk area). There are droppings everywhere and going on for months

Where are we on this issue? The birds are spreading to new trees.

Perhaps the city or Lightrail can come and prune/trim the trees. They are very overgrown. Perhaps this would be a first step in making less attractive to the hundreds of birds that nest there.

According to a concerned resident on the block, these birds leave the area for the Winter and return in the warmer months. Animal Control is looking into suggestions for making the area less attractive in order to deter the birds from returning. Pruning the trees back to provide less dense nesting opportunities would be a first step in this process.

The birds are coming back. There is a nest in the tree outside 80 Essex. Can we have this addressed this season? It is a health hazard and public nuisance.

The birds have nested there for years. The Migratory Bird Treat Act of 1918 makes it illegal for Animal Control to move them, or their nests, without a federal permit issued by the Division of Fish & Wildlife according to the US Department of the Interior.

To quote: “The Migratory Bird Treaty Act makes it illegal for anyone to take, possess, import, export, transport, sell, purchase, barter, or offer for sale, purchase, or barter, any migratory bird, or the parts, nests, or eggs of such a bird except under the terms of a valid permit issued pursuant to Federal regulations.”

Btw. Street looks fine today.
