Its not construction materials but the remnants of wine grape boxes. So would classify as food packaging materials. Easily identifiable by anyine with a 2nd grade reading ability who opened the bins (but probably not identifiable by the pictures).

Mike, I've been burned for this before. The city will absolutely NOT pick up anything that is perceived to be construction/demolition material. The city wants you to transport it to the transfer station on Middletown Ave (but first get a voucher through some nonsensical process). I have suggested through SCF and at public meetings that we adopt a sensible Transfer Station system for residents (free, no hassle) like surrounding suburbs do.

Honestly though, just go buy some black garbage bags. Maybe bend the nails so they wont rip the bag. It's food packaging waste, not construction material, so you aren't doing anything wrong by disposing of it. Yes I know it's stupid to have to dig through your own garbage to "re-package" it, and I'm sure you will be thinking about your property taxes the whole time. Been there, done that.

I appreciate your suggestion to repackage my refuse. As a matter of principal I refuse to do that. The bins will remain at the streetside until they are emptied as they should have been in the first place or they completely decompose by natural means 1000 years from now. I keep my end of the bargain by paying the ever increasing taxes to the city and I expect them to do the same with the service they provide.
