Description
Going south bound on Chamblee-Dunwoody one car trying to make a left turn into Vermack blocks traffic for blocks because they can not turn until the light changes because of traffic coming north on Chamblee-Dunwoody. The road is being currnetly repaved; however, based on the current markings, no provision is being made for at least one position for a left turn. The City of Dunwoody, if this is the case has missed a golden opportunity to fix one of the worst traffic delay problems in the city!! I wonder if the City Traffic Engineer ever leaves his office to actually observe a traffic problem?

The roadway at this location is not currently wide enough to provide a left-turn lane. We do have long-term designs for the area that do include a left turn lane- a concept plan on the city’s website can be found here: http://dunwoodyga.gov/ckeditorfiles/files/Projects/Construction%20Projects/Chamblee%20Dunwoody%20Georgetown%20Gateway/Concept-ChamDun-Vermack-Roundabout.pdf
