Description
The sidewalk between Howard Ave and Newlands Ave on El Camino Real is very unsafe to walk. There are multiple issues:
1) sidewalk is too low - almost level with the street (El Camino Real) at some point
2) sidewalk is uneven / lumpy with patches
3) sidewalk is too narrow - maybe 5 ft max.
I feel unsafe to walk with my newborn in a stroller. Especially walking north with oncoming traffic facing us. Please fix the unevenness, raise it above the street level and widen the sidewalk.

Burlingame is awful about El Camino, abdicating all responsibility (though I doubt liability). If you want this fixed, go to a Caltran mainteance request at https://csr.dot.ca.gov/. You have to be incredibly specific and it's a pain in the rear, but things do get fixed.
At some point, someone will get hurt here and Burlingame will either have to finally pay or cut down those ugly trees that make El Camino so terrible in Burlingame...

If widening is not possible, the city should very least the repair to raise the curb height to code. Here's an example just one block down El Camino (between Newlands and Cypress Ave) that is much nicer and can be done within reasonable time frame and budget: https://goo.gl/W5Pn2t
I've also filed this at Caltrans Division of Maintenance (ticket # 678530).

Staff will be scheduled to make temporary repairs to the uneven sidewalk. Caltrans has been notified to address the other issues.

Staff will be scheduled to make temporary repairs to the uneven sidewalk. Caltrans has been notified to address the low curb and gutter which helps convey rain water to the nearest storm drain, as well as the pot holes on the El Camino Real in front of the bus stop.. Staff has removed the previous ramping and patching of asphalt and did install a continuous overlay of asphalt. We have been in contact with CalTrans about addressing the height of the sidewalk, but we have not received any feedback or direction.
