The problem is most likely with the main. there is rust on the walls and some change in velocity of the water or change in direction of flow ripped the rust off the walls of the main and suspended in the water column. it happened while your water was running so it cam into your house. I assume it has cleared by now. if it has not, call the water plant at 994-2840 and let us know and we'll have a fire hydrant flushed. the sediment that entered your water heater is still in thee. it is probably not a problem but if it is, open the drain valve on the water heater for a few seconds to flush it. there is no need to turn off the heater to do this. -Larry Sanford
