Description
I have reported this to Livable Cities before. Things have gotten worse instead of better. Split rail fence made out of trees cut down from the property look terrible. Garage/barn which is falling down now has rope tied to tree over barn holding tarp which is covering the exposed roof
Take note of the houses from 90 Springside to 146 Springside and note we take pride in our properties and this house on 59 Hard is taking the neighborhood down
PLEASE INVESTIGATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS RIDICUOLOUS THAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO KEEP THEIR PROPERTY IN THIS CONDITION

NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO THE BARN ON THE PROPERTY OR THE BACK YARD AREA AND THE BARN IS STILL IN DANGER OF COLLAPSE AND WHEN IT DOES IT WILL COLLAPSE IN THE ROAD.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!!!!

Wondering because complaint was never acknowledged if anything was ever addressed with the owners
Someone is going to get hurt if that barn collapses besides it being an eyesore and blight to the neighborhood. As I said just look at the rest of the houses and properties from 90 - 146 Springside.
None of us keep our houses and yards looking like that.

But it appears that those walls are not going to be removed as they have been working on rebuilding the foundation. At last they have also taped it off because of a request of a concerned neighbor who was afraid that someone walking near the site would be injured.
I thought the barn had to be demolished! Please update LCI.
Thank you

The owners have begun working on the barn in question and it is a very lengthy project. Unfortunately the cold weather has arrived and through no fault of their own because they were working very hard on removing it, work has stopped.
Unless they are still going to "demolish" it farther, they need to take down the two remaing walls. A foundation has also been constructed where the existing floor was.
I am glad to see they have removed most of what was there and thank them for their efforts and hope the "demolition" will continue.

The contents were removed and taken away and except for the two walls still standing, the building was "demolished". I wonder if someone has driven by lately to inspect the progress as it has not been totally demolished and where the subfloor was some kind of foundation has been boarded/framed off.
Their neighbors are appreciative to see how hard they have worked so far to remove what they did and look forward to when it will be finished and they can enjoy all their property in the back yard.

Backyard property where barn once stood has not been finished. In fact In spite of having once done what might have passed as a clean up still looks like it did 6 months to a year ago. Foundation was poured and there everything sits and the backyard is filling up again. A number of cars are also parked there
SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK AT IT AND WHATEVER IT IS THEY ARE GOING TO DO NEEDS TO BE DONE.
OVER 400 DAYS SINCE IT WAS FIRST REPORTED!
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS HAS GONE ON FOR AS LONG AS IT HAS.
cindy (Registered User)
Has LCI or anyone else from the city buildong department bothered to check it lately?
Still an eyesore and a safety issue
cindy (Registered User)
YOU MIGHT AS WELL CLOSE IT IF THE CITY IS NOT GOING TO ENFORCE ANYTHING JUST LIKE AT 352 BLAKE STREET WHICH WAS ALSO REPORTEF.
cindy (Registered User)
IS THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT OR LIVEABLE CITY EVER GOING TO LOOK INTO THIS AGAIN.
YOU COME LOOK AT IT AND RIDE BY IT EVERYDAY FOR 2 YEARS.
cindy (Registered User)
IS IT GOING TO BE ALLOWED TO STAY LIKE THAT FOREVER.
ITS A JOKE TO KEEP REPORTING IT BECAUSE NOTHING IS EVER DONE!
cindy (Registered User)
THIS ISSUE WAS FIRST REPORTED IN JULY OF 2017.
IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AT THIS POINT TO RIDE BY EVERYDAY AND SEE IT ESPECIALLY THE BACKYARD WITH THE SAME HOLE IN THE GROUND WHERE THE BARN WSS KNOCKED DOWN AND A NEW FOUNDATION WAS POURED AND THAT WAS THAT
CARS PARKED ALL OVER THE BACK YARD SO THEY DO PARTIES AND COOK OUTS IN THE FRONT YARD.
PLEASE LCI OR BUILDING INSPECTORS DO YOUR JOB! TWO YEARS OF THIS IS ENOUGH!!!!!
cindy (Registered User)
WHY BOTHER TO REPORT ANYTHONG AT ALL!
THINGS ARE NOT JUST THE SAME BUT WORSE NOW AS THEY HAVE CARS PARKED ALL OVER THE BACKYARD AND ONE COVERED WITH A TARP.
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
THIS IS WHAT I PAY TAXES FOR
I WOULD LOVE THE COURTESY OF A RESPONSE BEFORE ANOTHER YEAR GOES BY.
cindy (Registered User)
Reporting is a joke! If it was im your neighborhood it would have been taken care of.
ITS BEEN TWO YEARS NOW AND FRUSTRATION.
DO NOT CHANGE UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE WHICJ I AM BEGINNING TO BELIEVE WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
I AND MY NEIGHBORS WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE A RESPONSE FINALLY AND SOME ACTION

That barn has been demolished for at least 2 years with nothing but a foundation poured. No work jas been done to rebuild it in over a year. The nre frncing was just put up this last month. Bushes are so high and out of control that a left turn onto Springside is impossible to make safely. Cars are parked all over the backyard.
How long is a building permit good for???
Hard to imagine LCI that there are NO violations!
Would appreciate your comments?

HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM LCI TO MY LATEST COMMENT OF 8/2/2019.
THIS WHOLE ISSUE HAS BECOME A JOKE!!!!
NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE IN TWO YEARS!!!
BUILDING PERMIT. BARN WAS DEMOLISHED. FOUNDATION POURED. NOTHING BUT A WHOLE IN THE GROUND.
BACKYARD STILL A MESS. CARS PARKED THERE.
HAZARD WITH BUSHES SO HIGH ALONG FRONT/SIDE OF HOUSE ALONG GUARD RAIL MAKING IT A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR CARS TURNING LEFT OUT OF HARD STREET TO GO UP SPRINGSIDE AVENUE.
I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE FOR 2 YEARS!!
THEY CAN'T EVEN USE THE BACKYARD SO THRY BARBECUE IN FRONT AND EAT OUT IN THE FRONT YARD.

Hi Cindy,
Inspector Rodriguez was there on 8/2 and determined there were no violations as I mentioned. LCI can re-inspect. When we do find housing code violations they are criminal matters that end up with an arrest warrant and housing court. It was deemed that that route is not necessary. We can remind them again to mow more, etc.
LCI does not work with building of structures as that is the city's Building Dept, and they have more detailed information on the building permit.
